Aims

Aims

PEACES is a specialized journal in peace studies, published to advance scholarship in the field, to promote academic exchange among researchers, and to share a wide range of peace-related research findings with scholars in Korea and abroad. The journal examines in depth the principal themes of traditional peace studies, including peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, war and conflict, peacebuilding, and international cooperation, while also broadening scholarly discussion of the new challenges to peace that arise amid a changing international order and social environment. It further welcomes work on the diverse peace agendas of contemporary society, such as the climate crisis and ecological peace, sustainable development, human rights, migration and refugees, social inequality, and war memory and social healing, and actively encourages research that adopts interdisciplinary approaches and new methodologies. PEACES aims to serve as an academic platform that embraces research from the many disciplines concerned with peace, promotes scholarly exchange among researchers in Korea and abroad, and contributes to the development of peace studies.
