This study analyzes the "Globalization and Peace" curriculum in high school social studies textbooks, aiming to propose practical directions for peace-oriented world citizenship education through the study of various conflicts and cooperation cases in globalization and international society. The main objectives of the research are: first, to explore the importance of world citizen awareness and cooperation in peacefully resolving problems caused by globalization and international conflicts; second, to examine ways to cultivate attitudes and values in high school students that enable them to practice sustainable peace based on the concepts of negative peace and positive peace; and third, to help students understand the meaning of peace in an international context and explore roles and practical methods for contributing to peace maintenance through the study of concrete case examples, including the division of Korea and historical conflicts in East Asia. This study aims to discuss the necessity and effectiveness of peace-oriented world citizenship education in high school social studies and contribute to establishing an educational foundation for students to grow as peaceful world citizens.
